Contact Germany Embassy to encourage Germany Government to drop persecution of Home Schoolers.

DEAR FRIENDS OF EXODUS MANDATE:

Seldom do we ask you to exert an effort to contact governmental officials. This is a very important situation that has exercised the entire American home school community and also some home schoolers in other countries as well. We have had some contact with the leadership of the young home school community in Germany and they had requested prayers and support from us before this situation had come to emergency proportions. We ask you to read the reports below, pray for these families and take the appropriate actions requested. First read 1 Peter 5: 8-10 and pray. Please take action this week if you intend to help. We would be grateful if you could circulate this memo to your network too. Thanks and Blessings.

In His grip,

START MEMO HERE:   The following link is to a WorldNet Daily story that appeared yesterday regarding the persecution of Christian homeschooling families by the German government. http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=42476.

Here is a link to a Focus on the Family article. http://www.family.org/cforum/fnif/news/a0035247.cfm. HSLDA brought this horrendous situation to the attention of the homeschool public first. http://www.hslda.org/hs/international/Germany/200501100.asp.

The following is an excerpt from their article describing what you can do to help. Please circulate this e-mail to homeschoolers and others sympathetic to the plight of the families in Paderborn who stand to lose their children and encourage them to contact the German embassy.  Our most powerful weapon is our ability to appeal to and embarrass the German government. God's peace be with you, Bruce Shortt - Exodus Mandate (USA)

Requested Action

1. In order to help these seven homeschool families in Germany, we urge you to call or write to the German Embassy immediately and give them the following message:  "The seven homeschool families in Paderborn County should not be forced to return their children to public school. A parent's right to direct the education of his children is a fundamental right that should be protected. We request that you urge Heinz Kohler and the county school board to drop the pending fines against the families."

We encourage you to rephrase this message in your own words and include a few paragraphs in your letter describing the benefits of homeschooling to your family. It would be best not to include the word "homeschool" in the subject of your e-mail, as that will make it too easy for the embassy to filter it out. The whole family should participate in this project of writing letters to the German Embassy. This is a great educational opportunity for your children to learn the importance of the freedoms we have in the United States and how easily these freedoms can be taken away.  Your decision to contact the German embassy  may determine the success or failure of the German homeschool movement.

The German embassy can be e-mailed from its website:

You may also contact the local German officials involved in the case:  Landrat Paderborn: Mr. Manfred Mueller [landrat@kreis-paderborn.de] (county official)
 President Nordrhein-Westfalen: Mr. Peer Steinbrueck – Local media   [landespresseamt@stk.nrw.de] - CC [poststelle@stk.nrw.de]

2. Pray for endurance and protection for these courageous families.

Your e-mails and calls work! A few years ago, the Harder family in Germany was facing two years imprisonment for homeschooling. Your calls and emails caused the German authorities to dismiss the Harder case within three weeks! Protests from overseas can change the views of the German government.

Thank you for standing together for freedom with your fellow homeschooling families around the world.  The German government is sensitive to world opinion and we need enough people to contact them for them to take notice.

_The Harsh Truth About Public Schools_

Subject: Debate Over Christian Education in the Southern Baptist Convention Intensifies Because of Endorsements of New Book

From: E. Ray Moore, Jr. Director of Exodus Mandate, 803-714-1744, raymoore@exodusmandate.org ; Dr. Bruce Shortt, 832-483-8882 cell, 713-654-8881 of Exodus Mandate: mailto:http://www.exodusmandate.org

COLUMBIA, SC, Dec 10 /Christian Wire Service/ --   When T.C. Pinckney and Bruce Shortt asked the Southern  Baptist Convention (SBC) to consider a resolution  urging Baptist families to pull their children out of  public schools and provide them with a Christian  education, many in the SBC leadership dismissed the  message of the resolution.

With the release of Bruce Shortt's book, _The Harsh  Truth About Public Schools_, which details the  arguments behind the resolution, ignoring the harm to  our children done by public schools may no longer be  possible. Some of the critics of the Pinckney-Shortt  resolution may be surprised to learn that among the  endorsers of Shortt's book are two key leaders of the conservative resurgence within the SBC, Dr. Paige Patterson, President of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Judge Paul Pressler.

Among other endorsers of _The Harsh Truth About Public  Schools_ are Dr. D. James Kennedy of Coral Ridge  Ministries.

From the resolution at the Southern Baptist Convention in part reads:

Whereas, the Bible commands that fathers are to bring up their children in the training and admonition of the  Lord (Eph. 6:4), and all parents have an obligation to  strive by all means to bring up their children in the  nurture and admonition of the Lord, and

Whereas, all authority in heaven and on earth belongs  to Jesus, and He has commanded us to make disciples of  our children and teach them to observe everything He  has commanded (Mt. 28:19-20), and

Whereas, teaching our children everything that Jesus  commanded involves their learning to think biblically  about all the spheres of human thought, activity, and  life (Dt. 6:4-9) so that they take every thought into  captivity to the obedience of Christ (2 Cor. 10:5), and

Whereas, our thinking is not to be conformed to this world's way of thinking, but our minds are to be renewed and sanctified by the truth of God's Word (Rom.  12:2; Jn. 17:17).

Individual copies of Shortt's new book _The Harsh Truth  About Public Schools_ can be ordered at http://www.chalcedonstore.com/ . For bulk purchases, contact chorders@goldrush.com or call (209) 736-4365.

Christian Action Network lobbies Disney to stop pro-Homosexual sponsorship.

The Christian Action Network has lobbied against the Disney Corporation's sponsorship of pro-homosexual, anti-family projects, including its ABC-TV holding, film companies and publishing projects. In recent years Mr. Mawyer has gained national recognition for exposing Disney's annual "Gay Days" at Disney World.  To learn more  about this effort visit
