Bob Riley and your property tax

Don Siegleman attacks Bob Riley for annual property tax appraisals, a major tax increase for us all.  Many people have reported a 40% increase in their property taxes. In March 2003, two months after Riley took office, his state revenue commissioner, Dwight Carlisle, changed regulations to phase in annual reappraisals, starting with some of Alabama's biggest counties. The change, after subtracting the cost of implementation, should generate hundreds of millions in tax revenue.  Read more details of article.

Judge Roy Moore said Riley's revenue commissioner ordered the annual reappraisals "without the consent of the people." If Moore is elected next year, he said he would immediately return to the old system of doing reappraisals once every four years.

In the interviews she has given about issues beyond foreign policy, Rice has described herself as a "pro-choice evangelical'' and "mildly pro-choice." To me, "pro-choice evangelical" is a spiritual oxymoron and "mildly pro-choice" sounds to me like the political version of "a little bit pregnant."

If Condoleezza Rice was a conservative, why doesn't she do something to stop illegal terrorists from coming in to the United States by the millions.  A good foreign policy start for Condoleeza Rice would be to fix the Mexican flood of illegal aliens, any terrorist can easily cross our borders. Pat Buchanan says: If George Bush's amnesty for between 8 million and 14 million illegal aliens is enacted, you can kiss the old America goodbye. Consider what the president is saying with his amnesty. He is telling us that he cannot or will not do his constitutional duty to defend the states from invasion. He is saying he simply cannot or will not protect our borders or enforce our immigration laws. He is saying he will no longer send illegal aliens back.
