National Conservative News, plus Stop CAFTA
Stop CAFTA
CAFTA will open up the immigration doors for all of Central America to
come to the United States. CAFTA will allow a flood of cheap imports to
come in, resulting in closing of U.S. manufacturing. Where will your sons
work? Pat Bunchanan and Ross Perot told us about the sucking sound of NAFTA
on jobs going to Mexico. CAFTA will send many more jobs to Central America
and allow mass immigration to the U.S. CAFTA is a stepping-stone of the
march to world-government.
CAFTA Plan To Integrate The US, Mexico & Canada -
By Phyllis Schlafly of Eagle Forum
The Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) has just let the cat out of
the bag about what's really behind our trade agreements and security
partnerships with the other North American countries. A 59-page CFR
document spells out a five-year plan for the "establishment by 2010 of a
North American economic and security community" with a common "outer
security perimeter."
The CFR document calls for creating a "North American preference" so
that employers can recruit low-paid workers from anywhere in North
America. No longer will illegal aliens have to be smuggled across the
border; employers can openly recruit for "Community" means integrating the
United States with the corruption, socialism, poverty and population of
Mexico and Canada. "Common perimeter" means wide-open U.S. borders between
the U.S., Mexico and Canada. Community" is sometimes called "space" but the CFR goal is clear: "a
common economic space ... for all people in the region, a space in which
trade, capital, and people flow freely." The CFR's "integrated" strategy
calls for "a more open border for the movement of goods and people."
The CFR document lays "the groundwork for the freer flow of people
within North America." The "common security perimeter" will require us to
"harmonize visa and asylum regulations" with Mexico and Canada, "harmonize
entry screening," and "fully share data about the exit and entry of
foreign nationals."
This CFR document, called "Building a North American Community,"
asserts that George W. Bush, Mexican President Vicente Fox, and Canadian
Prime Minister Paul Martin "committed their governments" to this goal when
they met at Bush's ranch and at Waco, Texas on March 23, 2005. The three
adopted the "Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America" and
assigned "working groups" to fill in the details.
It was at this same meeting, grandly called the North American summit,
that President Bush pinned the epithet "vigilantes" on the volunteers
guarding our border in Arizona.
A follow-up meeting was held in Ottawa on June 27, where the U.S.
representative, Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff, told a news
conference that "we want to facilitate the flow of traffic across our
borders." The White House issued a statement that the Ottawa report
"represents an important first step in achieving the goals of the Security
and Prosperity Partnership."

CAFTA not about trade
You see, CAFTA, like NAFTA, isn't really about free trade. It's about
managed trade where government gets to pick the winners and losers. In
this case, major pharmaceuticals win, and you, the consumer, lose. The
pharmaceutical companies want government to "manage" the dietary
supplement industry under Codex in order to drive out competitors so only
they can manufacture and distribute vitamin C and other dietary
supplements. If that happens, as it already has in Europe, the supplements
you now take will be available only by prescription and at a much higher
cost -- if they are available at all.
We will fight CAFTA, NAFTA, WTO and the like because they subjugate our
national sovereignty to the "rulings" of global institutions and the whims
of the unelected bureaucrats-for-life who run them. As this web of global
governance grows, our freedom to choose shrinks -- and health freedom is
just one example. You can't afford to stay out of this fight.
TELL YOUR REP. TO OPPOSE CAFTA
Capitol Switchboard: 1-877-762-8762
July 14, 2005
The House may vote soon on the Central America Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA).
This is an up-or-down vote and NO amendments can be offered. If you
thought NAFTA was bad, CAFTA could be worse. CAFTA will weaken American
sovereignty and independence, cause the loss of thousands of American
jobs, weaken our border security, and possibly spark an even greater
influx of illegal aliens into our country! Several Republican leaders in
the House, including Reps. Charlie Norwood (R-GA), Walter Jones (R-NC) and
Ron Paul (R-TX), have raised these very objections. Rep. Tom Tancredo
(R-CO) has spoken out against the back-door immigration provisions within
this 1,000 page "free trade" agreement which could lead to a flood of new
foreign workers (with visas) from Central America and the Dominican Republic to enter the U.S. Contact your Congressman and tell him to
vote "NO" on CAFTA.

Stop Renewal of the Civil Rights Voting Act
Do the Right Thing. It's time to let the "emergency" provisions of the Voting Rights Act
die. An Editorial in the Wall Street Journal
When it comes to issues involving race, apparently the first instinct
of congressional Republicans is to grovel. They don't believe in
appeasement abroad--only at home. The immediate issue is the
reauthorization of the "emergency" provisions of the 1965 Voting Rights
Act--provisions such as preclearance that constitute such a radical,
unprecedented intrusion into state electoral prerogatives that they were
originally designed to expire in 1970. Repeatedly extended, they are now
due to die on Aug. 6, 2007.
Will the GOP truly benefit politically from its craven surrender to
Jesse Jackson and other activists eager to wave the racism flag? Not a
chance. In fact, the opportunities for mischief using the Voting Rights
Act are only growing. A 2003 Supreme Court decision encourages the Justice
Department to think of both white and minority Democrats as "responsive"
to black and Hispanic interests. In coming years, the statute is thus
likely to become a handy tool to push partisan as well as racial
redistricting.

Picking Judges? A Lesson from the Bible
By Gary DeMar
The Hebrew word translated ?gods? in Exodus 4 and Psalm 82:6 is a
reference to those who exercise judicial authority in God?s name and under
His jurisdiction. ?The passage refers to the judges of Israel, and the
expression ?gods? is applied to them in the exercise of their high and
God-given office.?1 To be brought before a judge was like being brought
before God, because the judge represented God. The word translated ?God?
in Exodus 21:6 refers to a judge who acts in God?s name. This can be seen
in Exodus 22:8?9 where the word translated ?judge? is, again, elohim.
