Biotech PAC donates $300,000 to Riley's re-election
A political action committee funded by backers of a Huntsville project that was awarded a $50 million state incentives package has donated $300,000 to Gov. Bob Riley's re-election campaign, state election records show. The PAC, called Alabamians for Biotechnology, was formed Dec. 16, and three days later made the donation to Riley's campaign, according to the report it filed this week with the Alabama Secretary of State's Office. James R. Hudson and Lonnie S. McMillian, the two founders of the nonprofit Hudson-Alpha Institute for Technology, each gave $100,000 to the PAC, and an executive with another company that will house its operations at the new facility chipped in $100,000, the report shows. McMillian said he, Hudson and others formed the PAC to support Riley because they know that Riley supports their efforts. He said he hoped that former Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore -- Riley's opponent in the Republican primary -- would also support the project, but noted that Moore espouses a fundamentalist Christian view that is not always friendly to science. Ft. Payne, Al, known as the "Sock Capital of the World", is losing jobs because of cheap imports. Bob Riley cast crucial votes in Congress to drop international trade barriers, such as NAFTA and GATT, leaving our clothing industries defenseless to the flood of cheap clothing imports. Alabama Gov. Bob Riley wants to help turn the sock capital of the world into the empty sock drawer of the world, Democratic gubernatorial candidate Don Siegelman said Thursday. Siegleman took Riley to task for "killing jobs" through support of international free trade policies such as the Central America Free Trade Agreement. "What we need is fair trade, not free trade," Siegleman said. "You'll notice that Riley was present at the ribbon cuttings for large auto plants that I helped to recruit into Alabama, even though he (Riley) once opposed the recruitment of those same plants. "He's supported all these free trade agreements that have sent your jobs overseas, Click here to read the rest of the article. Tom Parker, Alabama Supreme Court Justice, speaks out on Judicial Activism. A judge takes an oath to support the constitution -- not to automatically follow activist justices who believe their own devolving standards of decency trump the text of the constitution. Thus, faithful adherence to the judicial oath requires resistance to such activism, and a changing U.S. Supreme Court membership makes such resistance more likely to bear good fruit. Jail 4 Judges. An old concept brought to life. It is time citizens responded to judges who are trying to legislate from the bench. "But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security." --DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE --(1776) -- Read more about this Alabama Organization at: http://al.jail4judges.org

LIBERALS TRYING TO CHANGE OUR CONSTITUTION. PLEASE ATTEND THIS HEARING FOR SENATE BILL 52 ON TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 14TH FROM 10AM TO 12PM IN ROOM 727 AT THE STATE HOUSE.
IF YOU
LOVE FREEDOM YOUR LIVES AS ALABAMIANS DEPEND ON YOU BEING THERE TO FIGHT THIS LEGISLATION TO TAKE AWAY OUR CONSTITUTION!!!!!!! A Public Hearing for Senate Bill 52 will take place on Tuesday, February 14th, from 10:00am until 12:00pm in Room 727 of the State House Building (11 South Union Street) in Montgomery . Since this is less than a week away, we desperately need you to attend the hearing and encourage others (including your Valentine) to do the same. Here are the details for the 14th: From 10:00am until 12:00pm the Senate Constitution, Campaign Finance, Ethics and Elections Committee will hold a Public Hearing on SB52, the Citizens Convention Bill. If you plan to speak at the hearing, you need to arrive no later than 9:45am to sign-up. Some of us have attended public hearings on various bills now for the past three legislative sessions. I have spoken for and against some bills as have many of you. BUT WITHOUT DOUBT, the Public Hearing that will be:
For a couple of years now, such liberals as Auburn professor Wayne Flynt: Samford University President, Tom Corts; and a few other liberals have fanned the flames of GET RID OF THE 1901 CONSTITUTION. The media, which never misses an opportunity to push a liberal cause has taken this to hysterical heights. But very few ordinary Alabama Citizens have been seen or heard PLEADING for a constitutional change. This is a "created crisis." I am not a Constitutional scholar so I cannot explain all the in's and out's for you; and you will hear MANY reasons why Alabama needs to discard her 1901 Constitution: too long, too often amended, racist language, archaic, etc. These are SMOKE SCREENS and are NOT the real reason for the push to destroy the 1901. When you boil it down, there are REALLY TWO REASONS the liberals want to do away with 1901 and write a new constitution for this state:
Additionally the 1901 has strong protection of private property. IF the liberals in the Legislature ever get the legal right to spend more in this state than they take in, then your grandchildren and great grandchildren will be sold into debt. And what is ALWAYS the answer to debt: why raise taxes to pay them, of course. Do not be mislead by the siren song of "home rule." You only have to look at the debts of some of our municipalities to see that local tax and spenders are the same as state tax and spenders. Home rule also gets into property condemnation for eminent domain. The bleeding hearts can scream and yell and posture and cry about unfair taxes, etc. But recently $500,000,000 extra for education was "discovered" in Montgomery and only last year, the nay-saying-tax-and-spenders were screaming about the schools going into pro-ration?? If you've never been to Montgomery to a public hearing before, PLEASE COME TO THIS ONE. Your grandchildren's future depends upon it. Folks, I can't over-stress the importance of defeating this legislation. Please make the necessary arrangements to attend. Every individual will COUNT. For more information click here.
